Study of errors using scintillation spectra unfolding for the calculation of photon field dosimetric characteristics

  • Original language description

Unfolding of the experimental spectra, based on the knowledge of detector response (represented by response matrix), enable to determine dosimetric characteristics of the incident photon fields and/or characteristics of the sources, creating those photonfields. An advantage of this method is, that energy distributions of calculated values (not only integral value) are available and no experimental calibration or corrections for energy dependence are necessary (absolute calibration and energy dependenceare included in the response matrix). Method was successfully used namely for processing of data from in-situ gamma spectrometry (including airborne spectrometry), environmental monitoring, monitoring of the working environment, accidental monitoring and contamination measurement, determination of dosimetric quantities, etc. Error of calculated spectral distributions of dosimetric quantities depend on many factors (stability of spectrometer energy calibration, statistical error of measu
