    A portable device for confocal X-ray fluorescence analysis of objects of cultural heritage has been designed at the Department of Dosimetry and Application of Ionizing Radiation, Czech Technical University in Prague. It consists of an X-ray tube, X-detector, two pieces of polycapillary optics, and positioning engines placed in glass box. This device is able to determine noninvasively the depth distribution of chemical elements in an investigated object with the resolution of 30 micrometers.
