Original language description
We focus mainly on modern parallel architectures like GPUs (graphics processing unit) and MIC (many integrated cores). Both architectures represent accelerators offering computational performance close to small distrubuted clusters. However, both of them are raltively small cards that can be installed to common PC. It is more convenient for use in clinical area compared to distributed systems. Porting numerical algorithms on GPUs and MICs can give speed-up five to ten compared to modern multicore CPUs.
