Detection of reactor antineutrinos by DANSS prototype
Original language description
The presented research is devoted to neutrino physics, which is relatively new and interesting physical field. Current study is focused on the construction of the S-cube reactor antineutrino detector consisting of 80 scintillating elements (40 x 20 x 1 cm3) based on plastic scintillator. Within this work each detector element has been optimized (energy resolution, light yield, Gd-layer). The testing detector prototype consisting of 18 optimized scintillating elements has been constructed and background measurements with/without shielding have been done. Results of these measurements are also presented.
