A novel approach to interaction detection in vehicular traffic
Original language description
A novel approach based on perturbation function for detection of number of actively followed vehicles is introduced. Theoretical background is thoroughly inspected which helps to enlighten the motivation behind this novel method. Combination of simulations and methods based on theoretical background of perturbation function led to observation, that interactions in vehicular traffic are middle ranged in all density regions corresponding to congested traffic, which confirmed our earlier expectations and verified method based on correlation analysis. Knowledge of an interaction range in vehicular traffic could bring a new insight into a theory and modeling of traffic dynamics.
