Numerical Methods for Lagrangian and ALE Hydrodynamic Simulations
Original language description
This text summarizes some outputs of research and other contributions in the field of numerical methods for Lagrangian and Arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian (ALE) hydrodynamic simulations of laser-plasma interaction, on which its author collaborated in recent years. Ten selected published papers are briefly commented and put into the perspective of contemporary research. Particular topics include new types of artificial viscosity, consistent treatment of the equation of state, strategies for symmetry preservation at various stages of the ALE algorithm, techniques for effective and solution-aware mesh rezoning, methods for synchronized flux-corrected remapping, and a few examples of real applications. Some of the author's ongoing research directions are presented and related scientific plans for near future mentioned.
