  • Original language description

    A sample of 5 GBq of pure Tb-161 was prepared by neutron irradiation of highly enriched Gd-160 and subsequent target dissolution and separation on a chromatographic column with Dowex 50Wx8(H+) (200-400 mesh) using alpha-HIBA as eluent. After separation, Tb-161 containing fractions were purified on another Dowex column to eliminate alpha-HIBA. Pure Tb-161 fractions were obtained by elution with 1M and 4M HCl in several fractions. The final product was analyzed by employing gamma spectrometry and ICP-MS. The overall activity was measured using calibrated ionization chamber. The radionuclidic purity of prepared samples was >99,999%. Specific activity >40 GBq/µg.
