    Quantum Communication Denial in Free Space

  • Original language description

    Space-ground quantum communication will be a vital part of integrated quantum networks or quantum Internet in the future, providing information-theoretic provably secure communication, which can be important for critical infrastructure. Before it happens, all risks and threats need to be assessed. Here, we investigate how the permanent or temporary denial of service (DoS) attack can be realised by (weapon) lasers considering various scenarios and provide a preliminary threat assessment. Finally, we discuss quantum communication attack countermeasures and provide basic recommendations for precisely estimating risks and suppressing DoS’s probability.
