This article describes a sustainable site development research. The portion of vegetation in urban areas in comparison to firm surfaces represents a potential indicator corresponding to sustainable development because vegetation surfaces show such a features as e.g. water and noise retention, slope reinforcement, erosion protection and soil improvement, oxygen and nutrient production, moistures air and other air quality enhancements. This article describes comparison of ratios of vegetation and firm surfaces in the residential complexes built after 1989 and their neighbourhood in Prague.
