Original language description
Timber as a natural material of a renewable resource has been used as a structural material by our primeval ancestors since the early days of building construction. Today, in the age of digital architecture, technological innovation and automated production of building components, a new angle of view of this traditional material gains importance. Broadening the application spectrum and supporting understanding of novel timber structure is of central importance in this proceeding. The aim of our creativeprocess is to generate innovative timber constructions challenging the interdisciplinary overlap of architecture, engineering and the realm of furniture design, industrial design detailing etc. New, unprecedented forms are expected to evolve from an examination of natural properties of timber in new context and processing. The approach we attempt to apply follows the logical path from material-informed structure to complex form.
