Boundaries Between Public and Private - Boundaries, Structures and Participation
Original language description
The Paper examines the motives and the history of an urban intervention in a form of a community garden and a meeting space. It is focusing, from the perspective of both city politics and public participation, on the change of physical and mental bordersin the neighborhood and the close vicinity of the intervention - a small vacant lot in a classical parisian urban block structure. The Paper tries as well to reveal the causality between city structure and conditions for public participation. It is suggesting that the research on this relation can be done through the examination of public space, its physical qualities, position, scale in relation to the private space.
