Data-Driven Changemakers: Datathon workshop aimed to open the topic how the city data can be used for improvment of our enviroment. Crutial part in this workshop was interdisciplinar collaboration. At th workshop participated 49 international students studying: geography, architecture, urban planning, economy , anthropology. The invited speakers where: Gabriel Ahlfeldt – London School of Economics and Political Science, Bernhard Sommer – University of Applied Arts in Vienna, Mathilde Marengo – Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia, Lucie Stejskalová - Prague Institute of Planning and Development. The workshop was organized in collaboration with Cerge - Ei. The themes where developed by Yvette Vašourková (FA ČVUT), Iva Kleinová and Lucia Štefánková (Cerge). Organization was done by Yvette Vašourková FA ČVUT and Lucia Štefánková CERGE. The theme of the first Datathon was “Active public space”. The participants analysed Prague city data to conceptualize practical solutions for: Urban Movements, Diverse City, Bottom-up Impact The students were provided with a set of data, that have been analysed in order to improve city or governmental policies as well as concrete spaces. All data used by the students has been divided in 916 microdistricts. They could be combined to neghborhoods and these added up to municipalities. How can data help to actively shape cities? How can we activate public space by data usage? How can citizens collect data and actively shape their city? Those are some of the questions on which the students were focusing during the three intensive days, exploring new solutions.
