Evaluation of Periodic Hand Motion in Parkinson´s Disease
Original language description
Parkinson's disease is a degenerative disorder of the central nervous system that often impairs the sufferer's motor skills and causes specific disturbances of hand motor function. We measure the 3-dimensional hand motion trajectory of the patients, whenthey perform a natural manual transport task (moving an object from one place to another). The patients perform the task repeatedly. For the evaluation and classification of the movement, it is important to select proper parameters. For this reason, wecreated the set of testing movements. We focused on the variance of the periodic movement. We created and tested algorithm for the computation of the variance.
