Electrical Impedance Tomography System on Neonatal Intensive-Care Unit
Original language description
This paper describes possibilities of Electrical impedance tomography (EIT) system for optimisation of ventilatory strategies during artificial lung ventilation of extremely premature infants. EIT could be very useful in the clinical practice, but has not been widely used. It seems to be promising for optimizing some biophysical profiles of lungs during ventilatory support and other treatment modalities in patients with respiratory failure. According to little mistrust of this method, everybody who wants to start using electrical impedance tomography have to be very circumspect and pay attention to all technical aspects of this method and responsible approach of well trained staff taking care about patients.
