An important aspect of the health care system is to assess the quality of medical care.To improve the quality of medical services and providing effective medical care standards of treatment are developed. In this study, we explored several methods used for the formalization of clinical guidelines. We considered several methods, such as: Arden Syntax for Medical Logic Systems, EON, Guideline Interchange Format. We have tried to describe the advantages and disadvantages of each method, as well as the extent of their usage in various projects. This analysis was performed with the aim of selecting the most appropriate method for its further usage in developing tool which allow to identify deviations from the applied diagnostic and therapeutic processes from one side and clinical guidelines from other
