Characterization of optical fibers for fiber lasers
Original language description
The objective of this article is characterization of rare earth elements doped fibers for fiber lasers suitable for medical application. The characterization is realized via multiple methods, which provide the information about quality of the fiber, based on the quantum yield in particular. For this purpose it is necessary to measure the refractive index profile as well as the absorption and emission spectra. As a result, the complex method characterizing the quality of laser fiber would be obtained. This article refers to the spectral attenuation and fluorescence on 1550 nm measured on studied samples. Obtained results are presented and also compared for different technology of sample preparation.
