940-nm laser has influence on lifespan of gamma-irradiated mice
Original language description
Aim of our study was to investigate, if laser treatment has an effect on the lifespan of mice, which were irradiated with lethal dose of gamma radiation. In our study we used 940-nm laser (5 W, 20 Hz, on area 11.25 cm2) and gamma radiation in dose of 8 Gy. There were 6 groups with 10 mice in each. In four groups it was combination of gamma and laser irradiation, which were in a different sequences and different doses of laser light (33 J or 132 J). Two next groups were irradiated only with laser or gamma irradiation. In the following period LD 50/30 value was monitored. The greater number of mice was remained alive in the groups, which were irradiated with a laser and then with the gamma radiation. In our experiment we obtained results that allow us tohope that low level laser has radioprotective effect, which we will research in next studies.
