Original language description
The year 2010 marked the 38th anniversary of the publication of a book called ?The Limits of Growth? which can be considered as the basis of interest in sustainable development. Based on their belief that growth in world population and exhaustion of mineral resources create barriers to economic growth, the authors of the book tried to document the necessity of a change in dependence of 5 variables, namely the world population, industrialization, pollution, food production and extraction of mineral resources.[8] The nature of environmental problems, their urgency and vital connection to the economic and social system, not only in the sense of provision of natural resources, but also provision of environmental services and sources of job opportunities, led to a wide discussion in scientific circles, as well as to political activity on an international level. Very important in this context is also education in the field of sustainable development.
