    A Hybrid Motion Capture Helmet System for Measuring the Kinematic Parameters of Gait

    This article proposes the design and application of a hybrid motion capture helmet system for measuring kinematics parameters of gait. Until recently, no motion capture system using optical and gyro-accelerometer approaches allowing parallel measurement of kinematic parameters of the vestibular system during gait was presented. The results have shown a possibility of estimating linear acceleration through a derivation of optical position markers. However, due to derivation errors, gyro-accelerometer inertial units usually provide more robust and accurate information concerning head movements. 2018 IEEE.
