Reliability Verification of a Steel Frame
Original language description
A steel frame exposed to self-weight, snow and wind actions is designed according to Eurocodes. Lateral-torsional buckling represents the most critical criterion, which is considered in the limit state function used in reliability analysis. The time invariant reliability analysis is based on Turkstra's rule for combination of time variable actions. The time variant analysis describes snow and wind actions by jump processes with intermittencies. The profile designed according to Eurocodes seems to be adequate. It appears that the time invariant reliability analysis based on Turkstra's rule provides considerable lower values of reliability index beta than those obtained by the time variant analysis.
