The object of the paper is the analysis of the law of deformation and failure of a brick wall of conventional type and size during the explosion of a mathane-air mixture beyond it corresponding e.g. with the gas explosion in a household. In the course ofthe investigation theoretical results were verified experimentally on brick partitions beginning with the effect of explosion pressures causing merely their elastic deformation and proceeding with the presures resulting in their failure and destruction.
