Reliability Basis of Partial Factors for Concrete Structures
Original language description
Probabilistic methods of structural reliability are used to analyse safety of reinforced concrete structures taking into account reliability differentiation and production quality. Reliability of selected reinforced concrete members is investigated assuming the alternative rules for load combinations and partial factors for material properties provided in Eurocodes. Probabilistic analysis indicates that the reduced partial factors for materials properties proposed in current codes may, in some cases, lead to an insufficient reliability level. It appears that further calibration of partial factors taking into account specific features of various reinforced concrete members is needed.
