Analyses of temperatures based on the monitoring of selected bridges in the recent years in the Czech Republic confirm that the Weibull distribution or lognormal distribution may be used for the probabilistic modelling of thermal actions. The skewness ofthe temperature components determined from measurements is considerably less than the skewness of the Gumbel distribution which is recommended in EN 1991-1-5.
