Building materials can be represented by many important properties and characteristics, for example compressive strength, elasticity modulus, absorption. For some materials are not important only mechanic properties, but also the physical ones. For instance bricks, plasters and mortars. All of them should be represented by their water vapour permeability, it means by water vapour resistance factor. This paper summarizes the results of three commonly used wall finishing form the point of view of water vapour resistance factor as well as description of the influencing border conditions.
