MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF FUNCTIONALLY GRADED THIN SLABS MADE FROM ECC AND UHPC

  • Original language description

The contribution deals with properties of thin slabs that were manufactured from two different materials. The load bearing part of the slab is created by an Ultra-High Performance Steel Fiber Reinforcement Concrete (UHPSFRC) with short steel fibers Masterfiber 482. After 15 minutes the second layer of fine-grained ECC material with thickness about 10 mm reinforced by REC fibers Kuraray was spread on prepared slabs made from UHPSFRC. Total thickness of the slabs was 25 mm. Homogeneous slabs with thickness about 25 mm were manufactured except the functionally graded slabs. The slabs were made from the both mixtures. The performed thin slabs were tested in a four-point bending test. An assessment of particular slabs in the four-point bending test supplemented by material characteristics of particular matrixes tested on small beams with size of 160/40/40 mm without notch are also performed in the contribution. The functionally graded samples take advantage of the potential of the hi-tech UHPC material and properties of the ECC matrix that thanks to the reinforcement by PVA fibers prevents a formation of micro-cracks and a getting out of steel fibers on to the surface of a structure.
