Reliability assessment of bridges based on monitoring
Original language description
Monitoring of bridges provides valuable information that can be used for decision making about their maintenance and rehabilitation. Obtained data might be applied for the calibration of bridge load models for the national conditions in upcoming 2nd generation of Eurocodes. Several road bridges have been monitored in the Czech Republic focussing on temperatures, traffic loads and degradation of structural material due to surrounding adverse environment. The results of monitoring are statistically evaluated and used for the calibration of characteristic and design values of traffic load models and thermal effects.
