Climatic Actions in Changing Climate for Structural Design

  • Original language description

The climatic data for the currently valid Eurocodes for structural design is about 20 years old, with some exceptions of recent updates of national data. The second generation of Eurocodes is expected to be nationally implemented within the next few years and revised National Annexes should be developed including updated climatic maps. However, some models for extreme climatic actions are still missing within Eurocodes including wind effects due to non-synoptic storms. Analyses of interactions of selected climatic actions in selected countries revealed a weak correlation for observed climatic actions. To cover climate change influence on the characteristic value of investigated climatic actions, the change factors are proposed to be applied which could be nationally calibrated.
