The article provides a summary of the inspection results for eight highway bridges, each featuring a superstructure made of prestressed precast girders. Standardized I-73 girders, designed for clear spans of 21 to 30 meters, have been used in bridge construction in the Czech Republic since around 1975. The inspection focused on verifying the corrosion of the prestressing reinforcement and the grouting of ducts. Additionally, the actual concrete strength class was compared to the design strength, and a visual inspection of both the exterior surface and the internal chambers of the girders was conducted using a videoscope (Olympus IPLEX NX) and a digital camera. The article concludes with an overview of the most common defects found.
