Original language description
The article discusses the promotion of entrepreneurship by communities with a focus on small and medium-sized enterprises. First, the importance of business development for municipalities is explained, indicating specific examples from the past. Furthermore, the article deals with the quality of the business environment in municipalities, which has a major impact on the localization of individual companies. At the same time, there are descriptions of specific instruments for promoting entrepreneurship,which municipalities may use. In conclusion, the article pr esents the results of a survey among entrepreneurs regarding their preferred ways of support from municipalities. Small and medium-sized enterprises are really important in the development of endogenous potential in particular Czech regions, due to the fact that they are significantly connected with a given region on both the enterprise and social level and also represent a regional enterprise basis.
