Ultra-low background shielding
Result description
Special ultra-low background shielding consisting of 2 cm pure Copper plates, 10 cm of pure Lead bricks and 8 cm of neutron shielding (borated polyethylene) was constructed and installed in Modane underground laboratory (France). Inner volume of the shielding is 40x40x40 cm3. It provides low background environment including the possibility to use clean air from antiradon facility to suppress concentration of radon inside the shielding.
