Development and Performance of a Curtain Wall System Using Modern Wood Products and Other Progressive Materials With Respect
Original language description
This paper presents a development of a curtain wall panel with a special focus on its environmental impacts. Renewable materials replacing aluminum and oil-based products with wood or wooden products are used to the highest possible extent together with active renewable energy components. It is also possible to use units for de-centralized ventilation and other features (supporting grid for greenery, etc.) The paper describes thermal analysis, material solutions and environmental assessment of the newly developed product, and lessons learned from prototyping.
