New technologies in the search for dark matter

  • Original language description

The ongoing search for dark matter has prompted the exploration of parameter spaces with masses lighter than the traditional 10 GeV range. However, as experiments extend into this low-energy range, detectors encounter significant challenges related to background events. Innovative solutions have been proposed to tackle these hurdles, including developing new detector technologies and dedicated calibration methods. This paper delves into the nature of these emerging background sources and outlines current and future efforts to address these challenges.
