Possibilities of use of CWA paper detector for other potentially dangerous chemicals
Original language description
Simple paper detectors, like a CALID-3, PP3 or M8, are standardised detection means for survey of occurrence of chemical warfare agents (CWA) neither in form of liquid aerosol or as droplets. A detection principle is based on a colour change of an indicator incorporated into detector material after contact with particular CWA. It is known that these indicators are not sensitive only to selected CWA but reacts to other liquid chemicals. This work is focused on a study of possibilities to use CALID-3 for detection other common, but potentially dangerous industrial chemicals. Lists of detector paper were exposed to 11 selected chemicals. Colour spots caused by chemicals were photodocumented, evaluated and compared.
