The effect of the different plasma gas compositions (air, oxygen, nitorgen, argon) during the treatment by the physical low temperature RF - plasma of the polypropylene and polyethylene surfaces were discussed. The effect on the changes of the surface morphology and the hydrophilic/hydrophobic chracter on the interface were critically evaluated.
