    Newly proposed Total Normal Stress Difference (TNSD) was found to be usefel tool for detection of the wave type of interfacial instabilities in coextrusion flows. Moreover, flow visualization cell was employed to quantify the interfacial instabilities and very good agreement with the theoretical data was found.
