The role of compatibilization method in the flow behaviour of PP/PET blends.
Original language description
Blending of polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene terephthalate (PET) attracts considerable attention as it represents possibility of reusing of mixed plastic waste. However, due to differences in chemical structures and polarity of both components, created blends are essentially immiscible. To overcome problems due to immiscibility, compatibilisation must be employed. In the presented case, the effect of maleic anhydride (MA) was studied. Both one-step (addition of MA) and two-steps (use of MA-modified PP matrix) approaches were investigated.
