PROCESS CONTROL WITH MOTOROLA 8-BIT MICROCONTROLLERS

  • Original language description

This contribution deals with employing 8-bit Motorola microcontrollers in process control with a view to implementation modern control methods such as adaptive controllers. Although microcontrollers have limited amount of memory and computing power it ispossible to successfully use them in this area and bring us improved regulation quality with cost saving. The contribution outlines the programming technique used to program the 8-bit microcontroller Motorola 68HC11 in assembler and library of program modules for monitoring and control applications. Further it examines the possibilities of using these modules on new series of Motorola 68HC08 microcontrollers by the means of software converter. With experiments on real system and on software simulatorswe were able to verify the functionality of this conception.
