The Monoacylglycerols as Microbicidal Treatment in Shoemaking Industry Part I
Original language description
The microbicidal effects of monoacylglycerols (MAGs) prepared from glycidol and fatty acids with even-numbered carbons in the chain - caprylic (MAG C 8:0), capric (MAG C 10:0), 2-ethylcaproic (MAG 2Eth-C 6:0) and lauric (MAG C 12:0)- were tested. These were consequently applied as ethanolic solution to lining materials. The experiments with yeasts Candida albicans and Candida parapsilosis proved their sensitivity to MAG C 8:0 and MAG C 10:0, which suppressed the growth of microorganism with concentrations from 100 to 150 mg/l. The fibrous moulds were inhibited especially by the solution MAG C 8:0 (100 mg/l). When applied this concentration to the tested materials the used moulds Aspergillus niger, Mucor racemosus and Penicillium ochrochloron were resistant against MAG C 8:0. The particular types of MAGs thus proved the different antimycotic effectivity to various types of fungal microorganisms causing mycoses.

Monoacylglyceroly jako mikrobicidní prostředek v obuvnickém průmyslu I
