    Synthesis and properties of new adamantane-containing nitro compounds

  • Original language description

    Adamantane moiety introduced into the molecule of biologically active compound can significantly improve the properties of the resulting compounds. High lipophilic character of the adamantane cage increases the active compound permeability through the membranes and its availability in the target place. On the other hand presence of adamantane can overcome water solubility limitations of the original compounds by the complexation with cyclodextrines [1]. Formation of supramolecular complexes with properstability is necessary in order to combine of these two advantages. For this purpose the convenient adamantane-containing building blocks with modulated polarity are needed.We decided to prepare and examine properties of several anilines with 1-adamantylsubstituent bound by alkyl chain bearing hydroxy or keto group in addition.
