influence of reactive extrusion process on rheological properties of metallocene polypropylenes

  • Original language description

Metallocene polypropylenes (mPP) prepared by reactive extrusion process were investigated with the aim to characterise their molecular structures (material branching) and the melt strength. Rheological properties of three mPPs with different branching (virgin (linear) mPP, processed (branched) mPPs with and without peroxide) were measured in shear and elongation flows by the rotational rheometer (ARES 2000) and SER Universal Testing Platform. It has been found that the processed mPPs prepared by reactive extrusion process exhibit strain hardening leading to higher melt strength. Decreasing flow activation energy which increases with branching of material, and modelling by the XPP and PTT-XPP models indicate the molecular structure differing from an "H"shape. Similar conclusions were found for monodisperse star-branched molecular structures.

Vliv reaktivního vytlačování na reologické vlastnosti metalocenových polypropylenů

  • Czech description

Cílem této práce je porovnat reologické chování tří odlišných metalocenových typů polypropylenů připravených reaktivním vytlačováním. Tokové chování bylo následně popsáno molekulárními konstitučními rovnicemi (XPP, PTT-XPP) a bylo překvapivě zjištěno, žezkoumané vzorky polypropylenů neobsahují větvení typu H.
