Implementation of pressure effect into the rheological description of PIM materials
Original language description
At present a wide range of powders (metallic or ceramic) are processed via Powder Injection Moulding (PIM) technology. The number of process variables in PIM processing is very large, and their correlations are only partially understood. Since the knowledge of the flow properties is the key factor for successful moulding step, this paper concerns rheological research related to the effect of pressure, which is still omitted in the computer simulations. Moreover, during moulding of PIM compounds pressuredetermines the homogeneous distribution of particles in the feedstock, and consequently the quality of the final PIM products. In literature it is speculated that sensitivity to pressure should decrease with loading level of powder in compound. Our results show the opposite; the pressure coefficients of PIM compounds are not linear decreasing function of powder content, and furthermore, pressure sensitivity can be shifted by processing and materials parameters.

Implementace vlivu tlaku na reologické vlastnosti PIM materiálů
