The present paper discusses the fluid characteristic of three different kinds of commercially available medical ultrasound gel i.e. Sortis sono gel, Ultrasonic gel and US-gel professional. The investigated gels have shown very interesting results in caseof conductivity as well as viscoelastic properties. All three gels have shown good conductivity whereas their bacteriostatic property is unlike. Bacteriostatic properties of the gels have been investigated in presence of Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. It was noticed that Sortis sono gel has reasonably good antibacterial cum bacteriostatic property compared with US-gel professional but Ultrasonic gel has shown negative response.

Czech description
Cílem této studie charakterizovat a porovnat tokové charakteristiky a antibakteriální vlastnosti tři komerčně dostupných ultrazvukových gelů, Sortis sono gel, Ultrasonic gel a US-gel professional. Zkoumané gely vykazovaly velmi zajímavé tokové a vodivostní charakteristiky. V případě Sortis sono gel a US-gel bylo pozorováno antibakterální vůči Escherichia coli a Staphylococcus aureus. Ultrasonic gel nevykazoval inhibici bakteriálního růstu.
