COMPARISON OF THERMAL PROPERTIES FOR POLYURETHANES AND GLASS WOOL OR FIBER GLASS AS ACOUSTIC INSULATION INSIDE AIRCRAFT
Original language description
The aim of this work is the problematic of thermal stability of construction materials inside fuselage of aircraft. Thermal stability of the PUR and glass wool ? fibreglass based insulation materials was tested. These are used on the firewall of the aircraft engine space separation of the cabin, where they serve as an effective sound damping materials. For purposes of these study were used thermal analysis methods (TGA, DTA) in the temperature range of 40 to 550°C and non-contact temperature measurements performed inside the cabin (at defined regimes of the engine performance during the flight). It was found that self-extinguishing type of PUR and also glass wool fulfil all requirements for this type of application, with different amount of released heat at higher temperature and different velocities of particular (glass wool) or complete (PUR) decomposition.
