Biodegradation of polyvinylalcohol in aerobic environment after pretreatment by Fenton process
Original language description
The effective degradation of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) was achieved by using a combination of the chemical treatment (Fenton process) and the biological degradation in the aerobic environment. Over 50% of PVA was removed at 25 °C and molar ratio PVA: H2O2:Fe (II) 1:10:1 within 30 minutes and then oxidative products were tested under aerobic condition. In this way more than 97% removal of PVA in aqueous solution it was achieved.
