Biodegradation of polyethylene films containing prooxidant additives is affected by some material factors
Original language description
The contribution represents a synthesis of data obtained during five years of experiments with polyethylene containing prooxidant additives. Various material factors were studied and their influence on subsequent biodegradation of predegraded polyethylene films evaluated. Biodegradation was observed, quantified and proved by several independent methods. The important conclusion was drawn that biodegradation of a particular material cannot be fully predicted on the base of an abiotic material characterization only.
