Preparation of nanoemulsions using phase inversion procedure
Original language description
The paper deals with the testing of two low-energy emulsification methods (Phase Inversion Temperature ? PIT and Emulsion Inversion Point ? EIP) and their suitability for the preparation of stable nanoemulsions. Using these methods, the paraffin-in-water(O/W) nanoemulsions were successfully formed in the presence of non-ionic surfactants, their particle sizes were measured using photon correlation spectroscopy and stability was estimated from changes in the particle sizes and visual appearance. The results indicated that both PIT and EIP methods can be used for the formation of nanoemulsions with particle size ranging from 50 to 500 nm.
