Antibacterial modifications of plastics with natural bioactive compounds
Original language description
This work deals with antibacterial modifications of low-density polyethylene with nature active agents (linalool, trans-anethol, and 4-allylanisole). Incorporation of the liquid terpenoids into polymer matrix was done through step of their immobilizationon various sorbents (molecular sieves, talc, softwood flour), which were introduced into low-density polyethylene matrix subsequently. Effect of such modifications on antibacterial activity and mechanical properties was studied according ISO 22196 and ČSN EN ISO 527-1-3. Promising results were found for low-density polyethylene/molecular sieves/4-allylanisole systems.
