Thin sensitive layer base on Multiwalled carbon nanotube/polypyrrole composite as a potential gas sensor
Original language description
Multi-walled carbon nanotubes networks (MWCNTs) and MWCNT/polypyrrole composite were used as a sensitive layer for organic vapour detection. The sensor detects volatile organic compounds (VOC). The gas sensing is measured by means of macroscopic electrical resistance. The selected solvents have different vapour pressure polarity and donor acceptor behaviour. The electrical resistance of MWCNTs increases when exposed to organic solvent vapours, and reversible reaction is observed when the MWCNT is removed from the vapours. On the other hand, MWCNT/PPy composite creates the donor acceptor interaction between organic vapours molecule. This composite has positive response for electron acceptor
