Electrical and Mechanical Properties of Ethylene-Butyl-Acrylate/Carbon Black Foams
Original language description
If compared to traditional materials, conductive polymer composites attract the attention in a wide range of applications especially due to their easier processability. In this study, the electrical conductivity and mechanical properties of carbon black(CB) filled ethylene-butyl-acrylate (EBA) were investigated. The dependence of composite conductivity on CB concentration indicated that the percolation threshold was significantly affected by foaming process. As a result new type of semiconducting material with rduced density (weight) and content of carbon black could be obtained. In addition, mechanical characteristic investigation revealed tha Young´s modulus of the composite foams was related with expansion ratios while elongation at break was progressed by growing CB contrentration.
