Original language description

The article presents possible interpretation of two dresses of Spanish Queen Ana de Austria (1549-1580), 4th wife of Felipe II based on her contemporary depictions from Alonso Sanchez Coello and Anthonis Mor. The study is based on period sources as extant garments, pattern books and specialized up-to-date publications. The aim is to approximate to the chosen portraits, verify the utilization of period patterns, the effect of detachable sleeves and the usage of chopines.
